As Takemoto comes to the office, failing another work exam he meets Shuuji's old-time friend who offers him a job. Although it seems good at first, he soon gets a phone call, saying that he went bankrupt, leaving Takemoto at the start of his journey again.

Meanwhile at Fujiwara Designs, Mario and Luigi make up and decide to be one again leaving Miwako and Nomiya with one too many complaint phonecalls from their customers after the Tottori office is abandoned. With that, Nomiya and Yamazaki decide to go to Tottori to clean up the mess - a 6 month course.

Back at home, Takemoto realises his fridge is empty... and realises something. Meanwhile, Ayu walks by Nomiya who is about to leave to Tottori but does not tell Ayu. She finds out a minute later in the office from Miwako while eating the poodle cake.

Takemoto finds himself riding his bicycle, just like when he was a child and realises that the sound in his head was the sound of emptiness. As Mayama returns home, he goes into Takemoto's room to share dinner, to find him not there.

While Takemoto wakes up on the beach, Mayama goes to the campus office and reports Takemoto missing to the crew; Mayama and Shuuji both realise that he has set out on a journey, to find "himself". Toudaiji-sensei also reveals that Shuuji too attempted that journey 7 times around but gave up after Rika and Harada found him every time.

Worried for Takemoto, Mayama, Shuuji and Morita set out to the bank; they confirm he is still alive and send him a bit of cash to help him along the way. Takemoto keeps riding, further and further in search of himself.
