When Nomiya returns to the office with Ayu, she reeks of alcohol. Nomiya asks Miwako to take Ayu home so an excuse system is put to place to counter her father. Unlike what Mayama said about Nomiya, it is obvious that Nomiya is much more humane.

Mayama and Morita eat the lunch packed by Miwako along the riverside; Morita is keen to go back to that office and Miwako and Yamazaki are just as keen to play with Morita, showing interest in him from his funky costume.

It is revealed that Nomiya called Miwako for backup regarding Ayu. As she tells Mayama they will be heading home after a ride in the ferris wheel, Mayama remembers the mountain of paperwork; every now and then with photos of the ferris wheel and Nomiya's words about that ferris wheel - that he felt they were to be looked on, not rode on.

Back at the campus, Morita approaches Ayu and expresses his concern for her; Ayu breaks down and tells Morita how concerned she was when he left without telling anyone. He promises that he'll give her a portable television the next time he leaves.

Takemoto asks why Shuuji decided to teach; he explains that it was because he became to like the art of teaching after doing a lot of explaining to Rika and Harada about the theory side of art. He also tells Takemoto Hagu's wish to keep drawing back at her country home.

When Morita sees Hagu working on her art, he approaches Shuuji and points out that Hagu is more than capable of going to the world. Shuuji however is concerned about Hagu's future in living with pressures and high expectations, only to be told by Morita that it would be Shuuji's job to ensure she doesn't break down. Shuuji wonders whether letting Hagu go to the world is for the best for her, or whether it is his own ego.

Meanwhile, Rika moves her office out from her living quarters as Miwako, Nomiya and Yamazaki tease Mayama about his bitter sweet seishun. Nomiya too admits that they are alike while he is told that Mayama thinks Nomiya is his perfect role model. Back at the campus, Takemoto sees Hagu in pain of her art work but is unable to say anything to stop her tears
