After spending a day and night in the office, the Fujiwara crew's day starts where it ended. Miwako starts teasing Mayama again as Mayama warns Nomiya and Yamazaki to keep clear of Ayu. While the crew question Mayama for why he doesn't take Ayu himself, he is pointed out by Nomiya, that it is because he is aiming for Rika (hearing that Miwako goes wild). Nomiya then goes onto point out that Mayama is being unreasonable if he is keeping Ayu for when things don't work out with him and Rika which pushes the wrong buttons on Mayama, stating back to Nomiya that, that is not true.

Hearing Mayama say that, Nomiya heads back out to the campus to see Ayu with Mayama following. As Ayu talks to Mayama about the events on campus, Nomiya watches them, realising Ayu's feelings towards Mayama. While she offers chocolate curry to the two, they decline the offer, sending her juniors to hospital instead.

Mayama is urgently called back to the office when his module is crushed between the desks of the office; Nomiya sees his chance and goes back to the campus saying he forgot his lighter. As he enters, hes sees Ayu wearing Mayama's coat; he takes her to Nagano to eat soba and on their return, Mayama runs into the campus to warn Ayu of Nomiya. This again backfires as he is left with her kick and the words of wisdom from Shuuji who suggests he gives Ayu some space (although he doesn't for Hagu). He also tells Mayama that it was indeed Rika at the fountain that day.

As he thinks back to the memories of him and Rika, especially the night when they kissed, he is informed that Asai-san was taken to hospital. Mayama sees Rika at the hospital and asks if she will take him back at Harada Designs but she rejects his offer saying she wants to work with Asai-san for a while. Realising the distance between him and Rika, Mayama realises he needs to start over. He drives Rika home and goes for a drive with her for a while, just, a while, as if running, like a coward.
