Takemoto tells the crew about Morita's situation - no one can believe it. As he puts forward a question to Hagu, he doesn't get the answer he expects, which makes him agian, tihnk about his position and relationship with both Hagu and Morita. As Mayama and Ayu talk about the possibility of Hagu and Morita as a couple, Ayu explodes at the words of Mayama and love. Meanwhile, Hagu too takes out her thoughts by concentrating on her art work as Takemoto slowly comes to terms with his feelings.

To take their minds off things, Ayu suggests they go and see the fireworks as a group. Shuuji manipulates Mayama into coming (becoming the Mayama Master) as Ayu and Hagu both go to Ayu's aunt's place to gear up. Although trying the sexy route, it doesn't quite go with Hagu who ends up looking like a primary school girl... Nevertheless as they walk to the Kajinseki, Ayu's childhoold brothers give her gifts for the event; as they arrive they see Shuuji and Takemoto.

As Mayama arrives, he tells Ayu that she looks good in her yukata - the words Ayu wanted to hear. She reflects on her thoughts, knowing she still liked Mayama, still hoping that she has a chance... yet knowing she doesn't.
