As the Hachikuro crew go flower seeing, they are greeted by Morita's Zundoko-bushi concert and a crowd of his fan (and a dying Professor Dange) - they wonder why he had time to go to the trouble of setting up for this concert when he didn't have time to complete his graduation thesis...

Mayama has flash backs of his time with Rika as he talks with Shuuji and suddenly feels goosebumps when the third generation boys of downtown Hamadayama bag him out for dumping Ayu. Meanwhile, Takemoto realises that the pendant Morita gave Hagu appears less on her clothes and wonders if Morita realises this too.

Hagu wonders in the garden, thinking about her and Morita; as Morita approaches her, he finds himself suddenly kissing Hagu - he runs away in panic, not knowing why he did it or what to do. Hagu is also left there standing in shock until Ayu comes and finds her.

The following week, Takemoto comes to the office after being scouted to various groups despite it being his 4th year at uni. Shuuji talks about Hagu to Takemoto; currently sick in bed with a fever - moreso from thinking too much, but the cause is unknown for both Takemoto and Shuuji. As they use the metaphor of sleeping beauty to describe Hagu's current state, both Takemoto and Shuuji freeze at the thought of the "kiss" and the mystery is half solved when Morita's name arises from Hagu's shopping trip with him. Shuuji realises that Hagu likes Morita, leaving Takemoto feeling complicated about his feelings towards her and hers towards him.

One night as Takemoto returns home, he sees Kaoru cracking into Morita's room at unbelievable speed; seeing Kaoru take Morita's passport, Takemoto realises Morita is going overseas and surely enough, he is told that Morita will be going to LA for at least 6 months. As he forces himself into Kaoru's car and then runs to the airport, he shouts to Morita on the plane, thinking about Hagu and comparing Morita to himself.
