As Hagu challenges new art work, she realises that Shuuji is gone, but strengthens her mentality in the process. That night, Ayu wonders the campus, thinking of Mayama and herself in the past; making excuses to see him where she could. As she enters the office, she sees the Hachikuro crew fighting for food with Mayama, who kindly decides to shout the mob dinner for the night. While everyone pounces onto to Mayama expressing their love, Ayu finds that she still can't do that.

As Takemoto goes to search for Morita to return his keys, Hagu follows him to find new materials; they see Morita at work which inspires Hagu and after she leaves, Takemoto approaches Morita and helps him find a white piece of wood...

The next morning, Hagu finds a white wooden pendant in her mug cup - the same design as the one in her Hagu Note. Takemoto realises that Morita made the pendant and is met by Morita's feelings towards Hagu. Meanwhile, Ayu approaches Morita for saving the scene the other night.

While Morita is upset that they can't do a big Christmas party like the previous year, Ayu is determined to help her downtown business combat the new department store. She invites Hagu to work with her, selling Ippei-san's cakes. With the help from Hagu and especially Takemoto in makiing a balloon-bear, they manage to pull off their big-time goal.

After business, the Hachikuro crew all gather up and celebrate Christmas - Takemoto feeling that perhaps, this will be the last big Christmas they will spend together.
