Episode Six

The Hachikuro crew decide to go to the mysterious amusement park + zoo - here Hagu uses all her senses to take in the giraffe she will later sketch. Mayama and Ayu talk of finding work and before Ayu can move onto a more sensitive topic, Mayama finds refuge with Shuuji, where they talk about him, and Rika's past. Shuuji talks of the greatness of Harada's existence and how they too, used to live together, becoming 3 when Rika joined them. He comments that it was as if both himself and Rika were founded by Harada, just like their past pets. However once Harada and Rika got married and began their own office, they were involved in a car accident in which Rika was driving causing her to blame herself. The scars on her body were from this accident, but the psychological effects were much greater.
It is revealed that after Harada's death, Shuuji was living with Rika as if to watch over her so she wouldn't follow Harada, but after a while, after feeling he could do nothing more for her, Harada and Rika separate and live apart. Yet, still worried for Rika, Shuuji decided to send in Mayama as a helper/watcher; one thing he did not plan however, was Mayama falling in love with Rika.

A few Extra Notes

* The reason why Shuuji left Rika was because he began to feel that perhaps Rika was better off with Harada - unable to seek peace anywhere with him, in the manga, Shuuji was about to push Rika off a building
* In the manga, Takemoto continues to make the Rococo series for Hagu, receiving compliments from Shuuji in the process. While Morita offers to make greater things for Hagu, she shows no interest
* Mayama hates being left out!
